
Hand painted lettering is almost a lost art. It has been brought to the edge of extinction by computer cut vinyl lettering and digital printers. Only a few sign makers still use paint and brushes anymore, and it's rare that newcomers learn the craft at all. As more and more of the old-timers pass away, the art of sign writing fades away also.
Here's a tailgate I lettered using varigated leaf for the fill of the letters...
