My Art...

I've been working hard preparing art pieces for my gallery show in April. It's not an easy process either. I usually start with about 50 pieces that I work on over a period of weeks or months. During that time, the number of pieces that I will actually put in the show dwindles down to about 10 or 15. I discard pieces that I think took a wrong direction, look too much like other pieces, or they just don't cut the mustard. It's aggravating because I've invested hours in some of the pieces that I throw out, and I hate wasted time. The three pics here are of artwork that I created for a show last year.

The graffiti and Girls of Infamous Choppers...

Infamous Choppers was started on the east coast around 2003 by a great friend of mine. He put me in charge of painting their bikes, painting the shops walls and signs, and designing their clothing, business cards, and other promotional stuff.
...I painted realistic fire on this chopper...
...I painted this lettering in the main showroom for a photo shoot...
...this graffiti wall was painted in the main work bay to brighten up the room...
...and this wall was done with a mix of spraycans and airbrush. It's cheesy, but that's what is cool about it!

I Love the Doors...

...here's some photos of artwork that I've painted on doors. Above is a door I painted for a great friend who is a miniature railroad collector. This door is to the room where he has his railroad set up...
...this door is in a tattoo shop. The owner is a good friend, and he wanted me to paint traditional tattoo images on all of the shop's doors. This geisha was my favorite...
...and this is a wall inside a hot rod and racing themed restaurant that wanted a garage door painted to appear realistic...
...and they wanted other walls of the building to appear to be made of brick. Each one of those bricks had to be individually masked off and airbrushed...it took forever...and sucked very bad

Born in the U.S.A...

...painting the flag and Vietnam soldiers on a Harley this week got me thinking of all the other patriotic artwork I have done, so here is a sample of things I've done in the past. The flag above was done in the ATL while doing airbrush demostrations with B. Papa at the International Auto Show. Sorry for the photo's crappy quality...
...I painted this flag on the sides of a bike tank  when I first started. I did it at a car/bike cruise and it took me 4 hours! Sad...
...this eagle piece was also done at the Atlanta Auto Show...
...this truck was done this past summer. I like the paint job, but the owner was a jackass.

Preparing for Gallery Show...

I've been busy preparing art for my solo show at LuLuBell gallery in Tucson, AZ...
...the art will be a mix of graffiti, signwriting, and tattoo art. I will post more pics of some of the pieces that will be featured in future posts...
...this is the e-flyer for the show...if your in the Tucson area sometime in April, stop by and check it out.

This Weeks Projects...

Here's a few of the projects I completed this week...
...I painted some old school pinstriping on my friends rat rod motorcycle...
...sometimes less is more, so for this bike I painted a simple design in old school blood red and skull white...
...I painted this bronco graphic in silvers, and then covered it all with red candy. The bike is owned by a rancher who loves horses...
...and this American flag was painted on the back trunk lid on a Harley bagger. The owner is a Vietnam vet, and he wanted me to ghost the Vietnam Memorial statue of the 3 soldiers over the flag. It was not an easy task, but the owner was very pleased when he saw it, and I was very pleased to be done with it.

...More From the Past...

Here's more pics from the archive... above is yours truly in front of graf I did at the Thick Bicycle Shop...
...some sketches of graf characters...
...a sketch and the finished wall of a weirdo monster character with a pierced tongue for my friend Corley's tattoo shop...
...an 'atomik' graffiti outline from an old sketchbook, I really like this and will try to think of something new to do with it...
...a sticker I drew for a hip-hop/skate shop I used to work at. Ahhh, memories...
